Get Started

Meet Paulette

Welcome. I’m Paulette R. Baker, founder of Beauty and the Beat Sisterhood Club.

I’m passionate about empowering women—especially women over 40—to grow in confidence, deepen their faith, rediscover their dreams, and pursue lives filled with purpose, clarity, and intention.

I founded Beauty and the Beat Sisterhood in December 2023 to create a space where women could experience encouragement, connection, personal growth, self-discovery, and transformation. Today, my mission is to help women turn their dreams into reality, embrace life unapologetically, and confidently step into the next chapter God has for them.

My Journey of Growth & Personal Development

My journey through education, leadership, ministry, business, federal service, and personal development has been both rich and diverse.

I am honored to be a Certified High Performance Coach through the High Performance Institute. This accomplishment strengthened my ability to help women gain clarity, build confidence, raise their standards, increase courage and consistency, and move forward with greater purpose.

My additional training includes:

  • Success Mastery Business Training Program with Dr. Stacia Pierce — completed June 2016

  • Proctor Gallagher 6 Minutes to Success Master Program — completed January 2024

  • Discover Life Church Leadership Academy Certificate of Completion — April 2025

  • Certificate in Theology from Bible Baptist Institute — June 2004

As a Small Group Facilitator, I have had the privilege of nurturing growth, confidence, connection, and encouragement among women who desire a supportive community and a deeper relationship with God.

Ministry & Leadership

Faith and service have been an important part of my life for decades.

For five years, I served as Women’s Ministry Team Lead at New Life Christian Church, where I had the opportunity to inspire and uplift women while organizing annual conferences and overseeing logistics, marketing, and coordination.

For more than 11 years, I served as Executive Officer for New Beginnings Christian Ministries, where I was actively involved in community outreach and helped facilitate an annual Marriage Retreat for eight consecutive years, encouraging couples in growth and connection.

My spiritual foundation began much earlier in Philadelphia, where I served as Youth Builders Choir President and a Young Adult Sunday School Teacher. These early experiences in ministry helped establish the foundation for the life of leadership, service, faith, and encouragement that I continue to walk in today.

Business & Professional Experience

Entrepreneurship has also played a major role in my journey.

I built and managed a resale women’s boutique from zero to six figures, serving thousands of women along the way. I spent 15 years as a committed member of the National Association for Resale Owners, where I had opportunities to empower others through workshops and conferences. In 2018, I also facilitated an in-person session for the Junior League of New Orleans.

But entrepreneurship also became part of my personal transformation story.

After experiencing the loss of my six-figure business, challenges in my marriage, the possibility of bankruptcy, and being sued, I came to a crossroads. I could allow those hard seasons to define the rest of my life, or I could dream again.

I chose to dream again.

I began intentionally redesigning my life, and within two years, many of the dreams I had written down began becoming my reality. That personal journey is one of the reasons I am so passionate today about helping other women believe that their lives can be redesigned too.

Before entrepreneurship and coaching, I spent more than 20 years working in federal government office management, serving within the Department of the Navy, Department of the Treasury, and Department of Homeland Security.

Where It All Began

I am originally from Philadelphia and graduated from John Bartram High School for Human Services in 1980.

Looking back, I can see how those early experiences in education, church, leadership, service, business, and community prepared me for the work I am doing today. Each chapter has taught me something about resilience, faith, purpose, leadership, and the power of beginning again.

Life Beyond the Work

Outside of my professional and ministry work, I am joyfully married to my lifelong friend, Clyde. We have been blessed with two wonderful sons and five grands, who bring so much laughter and happiness into our lives.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, thrifting, and visiting the beach.

Through Beauty and the Beat Sisterhood Club, I want women to know that life does not stop because you have reached a certain age, experienced disappointment, raised a family, built a career, served everyone else, or walked through a difficult season.

You can dream again. You can redesign your life. And you can live the next chapter with faith, clarity, confidence, and intention.

Connect with me and the Beauty and the Beat Sisterhood Club as we inspire women to dream boldly, live purposefully, and embrace life unapologetically.
